IV – 9/4/2012

We started out today doing an alliteration word find with a picture. With the picture that Riley gave you, find as many pictures that you can that start with the letter of the alphabet that you have been assigned. After that is done, you need to write  sentence with TEN WORDS that start with your letter of the alphabet. You can have more than ten words in your sentence, but at least ten of them have to start with your letter.

We then listened to The Breaks and watch as Riley tried to dance around the room to show us that caesuras were just dramatic pauses that the bards used.

We did  magnet card for caesuras – one one side of the index card, write caesuras in the middle, and then four related words around it. On the other side, write a definition for caesuras using those four words.

Then, we did the kennings rename game – a kenning is fancy word for a compound nickname, like light-bringer for a lightbulb, or whale-road for  the ocean.

WE also picked three words from our Word Storm and filled in the cartoon using those three words in the dialogue.

If you had time left over, play the review games in LMS to get ready for the group quiz tomorrow.
