About Your Captain

I am originally from St. Louis, but I have lived in Texas since 1992. This means that I still root for the St. Louis Cardinals, and will scowl at anyone who chooses to wear a Houston Astros shirt in my room. I do not allow Hot Cheetos in my room: they are nasty.

I spent a lot of time with my family on the Mississippi River, watching my father work on engines in the garage, and going to car shows on the weekends.

I love the Cardinals!

I have taught for over 20 years! I can hardly believe it! I have taught at South Houston High School, Schindewolf Intermediate, the Vistas High School Program of Choice, and am currently teaching at Klein Oak High School. It comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me that I LOVE teaching! I am currently certified to be an administrator (me? a principal?), but I am having WAY too much fun in the classroom to even think about leaving my students!

I have previously worked with the Klein ISD’s Educational Technology Department teaching in-service to teachers, Klein ISD’s Second Chance evening program, and have graded SAT essays for Pearson Educational Measurement. Outside of the classroom, I perform for Frow Biz and Get a Clue Mysteries. I was also part of the Klein ISD curriculum writing team for 2010, 2011, and 2020-2021.

In June 2009, I got married in a ruined castle on the coast of Scotland. My husband is Scottish, so most of his friends and family are still in the UK. I figured that since we planned on living in the US, we may as well have the wedding there so they could participate in it. Besides, how many people do you know who were married at a castle in Scotland?

In 2015, my twins Eleanor and Alexander were born and they have completed my happy little family.
