Beowulf! Hooray!

To start out with, we wrote the three most important words from yesterday on a Post It note.

Then, we read The Coming of Beowulf.

After we finished reading, we did a Quote sort – Riley gave us a list of quotes and we sorted them into Fate and Free Will categories. We also put our definition of fate and free will on the poster.

Lastly, she handed out booty cards! So far, it seems people aren’t fans of the fish pillow or stinky feet. Maybe stinky feet needs to be a Merit…

IV – 9/5/2012

We talked about wergild and how it was like insurance.

We took a group quiz – Peanut Butter Jelly Time – open note, open poster, open internet. If you wanted to retake the quiz, you can.

We read the Wrath of Grendel – if you weren’t here, get the notes from someone in class.

Lastly, we tried on chainmail. I’d post the pictures, but I’m running out of time. I’ll post them soon. 🙂

III – 9/6/2012

Today, we started out with a word prediction. Based on the list words that Riley gave you, you wrote a prediction as to what you thought the story was going to be about. Riley’s favorite prediction was that this was about Little Red Riding Hood!

We read When Grizzlies Walked the Earth and then researched feral children. Find two sources about your child, print them to OneNote, and the complete a 9 square storyboard, complete with pictures.
