Pretty much, we just finished up our Quilts today and took a quiz with our partner. If you were absent yesterday, you just had to read all the sections by yourself, write down four nuggest for each section, and then take the quiz on your own.

Remember, we are now in a new “unit” – The Canterbury Tales. We are no longer Beowulf. If you still owe daily work from Beowulf, it will only be worth half credit.

We have completed a major writing assignment (Beo-Boast) and a major test grade (Metaphorical Response).

Make sure that you are at least Level 3: Cook on Monday!

Hey everybody today is thrusday, the day named after Thor, but not the point why I am writing. The point is to tell you what we are doing today.

Today we are puting our quilt’s together. You know the ones we have been working on that may sound easy but aren’t. Then we are making another quilt with our names and simple questions that Mrs. Riley gave us on the board. Then after that, if you have time to actually take it, we are taking a quiz. Yay that sounds not fun at all. But you have to do it anyway. Anyway I’m not gonna take up any of your time, so bye. If you read this I just wasted ten seconds of your life.

Isn’t anyone other than Lil’ Juan going to be the scribe? Holy Moly! I sure know a lot about this classroom, and I only just got back the room on Tuesday!

Anyway, we spent today working on the quilt squares to provide protection and comfort (?) when we return attack on the French ship that fired at us.

Yesterday we made the quilt patches and today, we read the material and wrote down our notes.

You will need a key word, a sentence (quote, summary, or paraphrase), and a picure. If you need help, Riley has key words for each section on an index card.

We finished The 13th Warrior today. Riley cried a bit in first block.

As our ship was coming to port in England, we were attacked by a French ship. What gives with this? Why did this happen?

We managed to sneak away and started to do a little recon work. We had two options: we could go ahead and face the French right away (take the quiz) or we could get some armor.

So far, everyone who faced the French (too the quiz) without the armor has failed. I’d suggest getting your armor first.

The armor is: A QUILT!

Don’t scoff, quilts are very protective. We got with a partner and started cutting and pasting the quilt pieces for the actual assignment.

There are ten parts to split up:

  • The introduction
  • Feudalisim
  • Women
  • Chivalry
  • New City Classes
  • Crusades
  • Beckett
  • Magna Carta
  • 100 Years War
  • Black Death

So, *why* did Riley dress up like a French person today?
