Ship’s Log: 11/16

Make sure that you are battening down the hatches every day, especially since my room is all discombobulated from watching the movie.

If you miss a day, I have a link of the movie to YouTube in my Schoology page with a list of the time stamps of when we started and stopped each day. The time stamps are based on my video from Amazon, so it might be a little off from YouTube, but you should be able to figure it out.

Blue sheets for Spring Semester Dual Credit classes is due to Mrs. Shock by tomorrow. You can drop it off at her office or give it to me and I’ll deliver it to her.

When we get back from the break, we will take a deeper dive when we read the play.

Gobble, gobble!

dpsWe watched Dead Poet’s Society today. I am not making you do questions unless you want extra credit. You can get 10 points today just for watching the movie, and ten points tomorrow for watching the movie. If you were absent (Maribel and Marissa), if you do the questions, this can make up the ten points that you missed. You can either watch the movie on your own, or you can use the Wikipedia page or other resources to answer the questions.

There are all sorts of links in the Carpe Diem unit for you if you are interested. We will be writing an essay using this near the end of the week.

Well, even though Beowulf is dead, Wiglaf is keeping his end of the bargain and is fixing our ship. It’ll take awhile, so while we are waiting, we are going to watch The 13th Warrior.

It’s a movie that is based on Beowulf and the novel Eaters of the Dead, which is based on real life account of Ahmad ibn Fadlān ibn al-Abbās ibn Rāšid ibn Hammād.

Pretty good movie, and Antonio Banderas is nice eye candy. 🙂
