We finished Beowulf today: The Farewell. Things we discussed in detail

• Beowulf’s dying request was the tower, so that people could remember him
• He was cremated and buried with the treasure
• The monks tried to compare him to Jesus, but we poo-pooed that idea. Beowulf isn’t MILD. He’s not a Ghost Chile Pepper, but he’s definitely at least a jalapeno. Most people said that I was MILD because I’m not mean, but don’t equate MILD with NICE. Once we got over that misconception, most classes decided that I was around US grade police pepper spray.
• Then, I gave you time to work on the Beo-Boast. Remember, you have to highlight and identify the required poetic elements.
