Mondays aren’t really that bad, especially here at Vistas!

The first thing that we did today was revisit the 48 Hours Post It note that we did last week. Remember when the doctor called you and said you only had 48 hours left to live? Well, he made a mistake. You only have pink eye and will live. So now, we took a look at the list that our class generated and answered the three questions on the back of the list. If you missed this, make sure that you get the sheet of paper so that you can do this on your own. This is a paper assignment, so you can’t find it in BB.

48 hours

We discussed that those items that you regretted were more YOLO and the ones that you DIDN’T regret were CARPE DIEM. Think about it. People usually say YOLO over something that is dangerous and reckless, something that they will regret the next day. YOLO is about living your life creating regres, but carpe diem is about living your life so that you DON’T have regrets. See the difference? That’s why some people say that YOLO is “carpe diem for stupid people.”

Afterwards, we talked about hash tags. With a buddy, students categorized real tweets (from Twitter) that I found that either had #YOLO or #CarpeDiem.

carpe or yoloUsing the construction paper that you were given, create a poster with YOLO on one side, and CARPE DIEM on the other side.

Lastly, we started the “Timed” Test in BB. We listened to Time and talked a little about the music.

:20 before we got the first sound1:00 the first music note starts
2:30 singing starts (most songs are OVER by this time)
≈3:30 starts a 1:30 solo
5:50MUSIC SHIFT

In BB, there are ten questions over this song. This will be a major grade with each question worth 15 points, so don’t skip a question! Some will ask for quotes, some will ask for opinion, but make sure that you use complete sentences for each question. There are about 3 hard questions, 3 medium questions, and about 4 easy questions.

We only had time for about a few questions, so there will be time in class for this later, I promise. 🙂
