I hope you guys had a nice, boring, weekend. My condolences to all of you football fans. I am going to miss grocery shopping during football games!

Today we watched Act 2 and did our Cloze Reading activity – remember, I am going to grade this TODAY so that I can give these back to your tomorrow for the quiz. 🙂 If you turn this in late, the highest grade you can get is a 70.

If you weren’t here, I pulled you into my (or Ms. Miller’s) Panther Den, so check your schedules in Enriching Students!

The only grades that I need to put in Skyward are late/missing grades and the Brain assignment from Friday.

A few notes for today:

Progress Reports will printed tomorrow at 8 am. So, you still have time to get work turned in if you want a good grade tomorrow.

The big thing is the Bucket List Persuasive Paper – I’m missing A LOT of those!

We read Othello Act 2 today. We had about 30-40 minutes to work on haikus today, but I suggested that if you needed to finish your essay, get that done first. The haikus are worth 75 points and are due on Friday, so you still have time this week to get caught up if you spend the time today working on the essay, which is due today and worth 150 points. This will be on the Progress Report tomorrow.

Word of the day: misogynist – a woman hater. Iago isn’t necessarily gay, he just doesn’t like or respect women. He especially thinks that they aren’t faithful.

11/14/13

Today was a pretty simple day: we read Act 2 and worked on the haikus. We talked about lying by omission, misogyny, and enemas. Please make sure that if you miss a day of class that you actually go back and read the play, not just the summaries. If you are stuck taking the final (good attendance, an 80 average in my class, and good behavior), you will need to know the story. Plus, we are going to write a paper and work on characterization next week – if you just read a summary, it will be much harder to complete these tasks.

Ok. Today we read ct 2. All of the scenes. We had plenty of time to work on our haikus – even 3rd Block, who lost time because of the Leadership/Klenk bus debacle.

Today, we read 2.1, 2.2., 2.3 – 2.2 is *really* short. It’s just the announcement of the party.

If you need help, remember – use the link in LMS to help you with the summaries. Also, Becca is the HAIKU MASTER! Seriously, if you need help, check her out. Just don’t steal her haikus.

We only have a few days left before final exams. I am once again starting to get more and more worried about your grades. I even gave you a make up day the Friday before Spring Break, and there are still an inordinate amount of zeros in this grade book. Sad Riley.
